Adele has sparked rumours that she will be making a surprise performance in London next month after posting a comment on her official blog. The London-born singer, who is releasing ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ as the third single from her hugely-successful sophomore LP ‘21’, hinted that she will “be on stage in London in just under 2 weeks”

As far as debut album’s go, Alex Clare has already stirred up quite a fuss in the underground scene. Prior to the release of ‘The Lateness of the Hour’ Alex has had three singles and four videos to his name, not bad at all for the Island Records singer. The only way to define Alex Clare would be along the lines of a mixture of extremely soulful vocals, to be the envy of many singer/songwriters in the business, smoothly incorporated with heavy bass lines, courtesy of producers Diplo & Switch. On the surface this creation appears to be the next big thing, but looking deeper to the whole album, plenty more work needs to be put in by Mr. Clare to truly make it big.

Katy Perry has claimed that she is planning a large ‘blowout’ party for the end of her ‘California Dreams’ world tour. The singer, who unveiled the video for ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) last week, claims that she will be breaking her strict diet rules as soon as the final tour date comes to a close.

Now, I could begin this review with a short anecdote of how I once met a pre-fame Benjamin Francis Leftwich. It was at Green Man Festival last year, we shared some pre-festival drinks and discussed his dissapointment with The Flaming Lips, but I won’t bore you. In less than a year since then things have exploded for Leftwich. He’s been championed by Zane Lowe and Greg James on Radio 1 and is currently preparing for summer festivals including Green Man and perhaps most impressively Glastonbury.

The singer confirmed that the band have reconvened and have already written a selection of new material during an interview on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last night (June 21st).

Crystal Fighters release the Deluxe Edition of their much lauded debut album ‘Star Of Love’ on 8th August. This will contain gorgeous acoustic versions of five original tracks – ‘Follow’, ‘Xtatic Truth’, ‘Champion Sound’, ‘Plage’ and ‘At Home’ – as well as a a brilliant cover of the cult Spanish song ‘Fiesta De Los Maniquins’ by the feted synth pop group Golpes Bajos. ‘Star Of Love’ is inspired by the band member Laure’s Basque grandfathers musings, the post Franco Spanish pop from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and traditional Basque folk songs.

Day One
Things were all set for a storming start to Finsbury Park’s inaugural London Feis festival, which marked 21 years since festival founder Vince Power brought his raucous Irish musical tastes to North London with the first Fleadh in 1990. Storming that is, in every sense of the word. Yes we were to be treated to birthday boy BOB DYLAN’s only UK performance of the year, and have a Sunday send-off with the world’s grumpiest Irishman VAN MORRISON, but the clouds looked like they could have come straight over from the soggy Irish moors.
